Manifesto

A manifesto is a published verbal declaration of the intentions, motives, or views of the issuer, be it an individual, group, political party or government. A manifesto usually accepts a previously published opinion or public consensus and/or promotes a new idea with prescriptive notions for carrying out changes the author believes should be made. It often is political or artistic in nature, but may present an individual's life stance. Manifestos relating to religious belief are generally referred to as creeds.

Etymology

It is derived from the Italian word manifesto, itself derived from the Latin manifestum, meaning clear or conspicuous. Its first recorded use in English is from 1620, in Nathaniel Brent's translation of Paolo Sarpi's History of the Council of Trent: "To this citation he made answer by a Manifesto" (p. 102). Similarly, "They were so farre surprised with his Manifesto, that they would never suffer it to be published" (p. 103)

Manifesto (Inspectah Deck album)

Manifesto is the third studio album by American rapper, and Wu-Tang Clan member Inspectah Deck. The album was released on March 23, 2010, by Urban Icons Records and Traffic Entertainment Group. The album features guest appearances from Raekwon, Cappadonna, Cormega, Kurupt, Planet Asia, Termanology, Carlton Fisk, Billy Danze and Fes Taylor. Initially, the album was slated to be titled Resident Patient II, as a sequel to Inspectah Deck's 2006 album The Resident Patient. However, a mixtape entitled Resident Patient II leaked in 2008 that was not the actual product. Deck eventually changed the name of the project and is still planning to release his final album under the name The Rebellion. Manifesto is composed of songs originally cut from Resident Patient II.

Gamer (Ukrainian: Гамep) was a the debut feature-length film directed by Oleg Sentsov. Out of the Russian and Ukrainian language in 2011. He tells of a young gamer, who lives with his mother in Simferopol. Premiere was held in 2012 in Rotterdam. The film participated in several international film festivals and was a highly marked by the professional community, in particular, a premium Russian Guild of Film Critics at the festival Spirit of Fire in Khanty-Mansiysk.

Plot

The film's protagonist - a teenager Lyoscha - enthusiastic player in computer games, all the time conducting in specialized clubs. During his passion, he almost did not pay attention to others, neither his mother, grieved the fact that his son had dropped out or a girl Katya, in love with him; any friends. In an environment of professional gamers Lyoscha reputed to be the best, followed by victory in many competitions. In an effort to become the best he embarks on an international gaming tournament in Los Angeles, but it takes only a second. Returning home, Lesch rid of their gaming devices, and for the first time the entire film on his face there is a smile.

Gamer is a 2009 American science fiction action thriller film written and directed by Mark Neveldine and Brian Taylor. The film stars Gerard Butler as a participant in an online game in which participants can control human beings as players, and Logan Lerman as the player who controls him. Gamer was released in North America on September 4, 2009.

Plot

In 2024, inventor and professional computer programmer Ken Castle has revolutionized the gaming industry with his self-replicating nanites that replace brain cells and allow full control of all motor functions by a third party. Castle's first application of this technology is a game called Society, which allows gamers to control a real person in a pseudo community (much like The Sims or Second Life). This allows players to engage in all manner of debauchery, such as deliberately injuring their "characters" and engaging in rough sex with random people. As a result, those who work as "characters" in Society are paid very well in compensation.
